Parent Problems?

So does anybody have parent problems? For an example: your parents argue all the time that it seems that their never going to get back together again? Or if your parent treats you as if you’re the perfect child and they want to show you off to every one of your aunts? Well that’s exactly how I feel, and I feel as if I don’t know what to do. And I just want to say that I am having parent problems. Because my mom and dad argue so much I feel like going into a hole. Then there’s the fact that my mom acts like I’m the perfect child and expects me to do all the chores or be really quiet. But I’m not and I really hate it because it really annoys me. Well I just want to wish everyone a happy weekend. Thanks for reading this blog. And if you have any parent problems like me, please comment me.

Picture Poems

So about these picture poems. I think they are pretty cool. Its interesting to see how people describe their pictures and what they mean to them. The saying "there's a thousands words for every picture," (thats probably isn't the exact words)

My poem is a picture of my dad brother and I. I really just picked this picture because it was in my room and I knew I could write poem about it. It really is not a very pretty picture because we had just gotten done hunting and had orange on because we were bird hunting and we have to wear orange so people don't think we are birds or don't ally shoot us for being camoflaged. Anyways, while I was writing the poem, I remembered the two dogs we just got for bird hunting. They are two English Setters, a boy and , and are so cute! And really playful! I love them. I keep on getting sidetracked. So, while I was writing my poem, I was able to fit them into it, because that is what they are for.

This picture brought back many memories, and I am kind of excited about writing poems. I was never good at the grammar part of English, but I was usually pretty strong in the writing unit.

What Would You Do

I was thinking about that balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. Its funny how Romeo is so in love with Juliet that he won't leave the Capulets land even though he could get in a lot of trouble if he was caught.

I also was thinking of Juliet talking about Romeo and how he just happened to hear by wondering around the land. I don't know if I believe in love at first sight, but Romeo and Juliet prove that it could happen. Does anyone believe in love at first sight in this day and age?

You know how when Romeo heard Juliet talking about him, he didn't let her know he was there for a long time. He waited until he heard probably all of what of he wanted to hear and was probably making sure that she felt the same way about him that he did for her.

I think we are still a lot like that. If we hear someone talking about us we wait and see what it is, if it is good or bad. We defiantly don't talk like that, but we are still curious to hear what others have to say about us.

I thought this scene also brought some suspicion, especially when the nurse kept calling for Juliet. I remember Juliet telling Romeo that she had to whisper because her nurse was calling for her. At that time kept waiting for the nurse to come out on the balcony and see what was taking Juliet so long to answer her. Though I think Juliet went to the nurse a couple of times, but Romeo kept talking to her so she would come back. I know that if I was the nurse that would make me very suspicious.

My Picture Poem

My photo was of me climbing a tree. I was about 4 or 5 at the time. My grandma was reaching for me, I think trying to get me to come down. My brother was looking at me like he was jealous. We were in Disney Land. I think my mom took the picture. I thought it was a pretty cool picture so I decided to write my poem about it.

The pros and cons of breathing

The Pros and Cons of Breathing
by: Fall out boy

This is my favorite Fall out boy song.
I think the lyrics are so awesome that they should be posted on here.
Check this song out sometime. =]

Bury me standing under your window with the cinder block in hand
Yeah cause no one will ever feel like this again
And if I could move I'm sure it would only be to crawl back to you
I must have dragged my guts a block... they were gone by the time we (talked)...

[Chorus: x2]
Whooa, I want to hate you half as much as I hate myself
But know that I could crush you with my voice

Stood on my roof and tried to see you forgetting about me
Hide the details I don't want to know a thing

I hate the way you say my name like it's something secret
My pain is the barrel of a gun. Remind me which side you should be on

[Chorus x2]

Stood on my roof and tried to see you forgetting about me
Hide the details I don't want to know a thing

I wish that I was as invisible as you make me feel [x2]

(Whooa, I want to hate you half as much as I hate my) [x2] (1..2..3..4..)

WooOoOo, I want to hate you half as much as I hate myself
But know that I could crush you with my voice

Whooa, I want to hate you half as much as I hate myself
But know that I could crush you with my voice

Do You Believe?

Hey ya'll! I'm back to talk! So how have you all been enjoying Shakespeare so far? Did the modern movie help you out? It helped me, to be honest. But that's not really why I'm blogging; I'm blogging about Love at First Sight.

So do you all believe in it? I don't. I mean, you can't tell why that guy (or girl) is the right person for you or their personality the moment you glance at them. It just doesn't make sense to say "I'm in love" when you don't know the person's name- like Romeo and Juliet both. They decided that they were in love with one another by looks, which is a crush. What weirds me out is that they kissed when they didn't know one another's names! I mean, do you have no shame! Haha. I kid. It's weird but at least she's not a prostitute or anything. She's too high-class for that... Anyway, back on subject!

So what are your guys' opinions on it? That was mine, so please share yours!

massive terror plot...

i found this web page on CNN and it says that Osama Bin Laden was planning on a terror attack on oil fields. Saudi security forces were were the ones who arrested the suspects... here's a link to the full report http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/04/27/saudi.arrests/index.html tell me what you think of the story, i would really like to know. (p.s. I'm not going to state my own opinion, because some people might get offended...)

HIM lyrics

they are just like poems

Death Is In Love With Us Lyrics
I know it hurts too much
I know that you're scared
I know you're running out of trust

Wishing you were dead
In your misery
You're not alone
So come share your tears with me
And witness it all go wrong
I know it and I feel it
Just as well as you do, Honey
It's not our fault if death's in love with us
It's not our fault if the reaper holds our hearts
41+66.6 = our loss
We're breathing only to fade away
We're running just to get caught
What love's lies blessed
What love's light cursed
Just fear for the best
And hope for our worst
I know it and I feel it
Just as well as you do, Honey
It's not our fault if death's in love with us
It's not our fault if the reaper holds our hearts
Death's in love with us
The Reaper holds our hearts
Death's in love with us
And the Reaper holds our hearts
I know it and I feel it
Just as well as you do, Honey
It's not our fault if death's in love with us
It's not our fault if the reaper holds our hearts

PEACE&LOVEEEE

PEACE, LOVE, AND HAPPINESS!

Well through out the past couple of months "peace, love, and happiness" has been quite the fad. But I don't understand it. This girl, who we will call, A, is always saying PEACE & LOVE! But in reality she is the meanest biggest drama creating person I've ever encountered. She likes to party and if things don't go her way than the entire world has to come to a stop. I hate that because if you were really someone who was all about peace than you wouldn't start drama. You wouldn't be mean, and you wouldn't conform to be a 90 pound all about fashion stuck up jerk!

I think everyone just needs to chill. Do what makes you happy, and try to make everyone else happy too! Don't start fights with people and don't care what people think of you:) Just be you and truly be all about PEACE, LOVE, AND HAPPINESS. Not MONEY, FASHION, and JERK-NESS!

The weekend!

Finally!!

It's been a long and busy week. I have had a geometry project to work on, reading, blogging, and other stuff. I just want to be free of school and be able to relax a little. Also my mom is in Paris, France so its been a little harder around the house also. But its alright.

Well I finished my book Code Orange. I need to start another book.

Another thing is the poem writings we have been doing this week. I don't mind it but I not really that into poetry. It's ok. At least it's not very long.

Well I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!

My Poem...Here it is

A girl lays on the ground,
Frozen in time,
She is engulfed in a sea of soft, green grass,
Cool underneath,
Yellow,
Bright flowers stick out their heads with the smell of summer,
Hot wind blows across the field,
The flowers brush against her arms,
A pink T-shirt and jean shorts,
Dirty from the ground upon which she lays,
Summer is passing by,
Vacation, vacation,
Up little girl,
Stand up and play.

Well, that's my poem. I don't have a title for it yet, so I hope that you guys can help my pick out an appropriate one. Thanks...

Reality check

So today i was reading my Chicken soup book and i was super happy because i just got to the relationships section of the book. The first story i read was called Reality check by: Arielle jacobs. It was really cute and i would love to posted the whole story on here but that would take a while to type and i am lazy. So i'll just sum it up for you. It's about this chick who like this awesome guy but her friends have no idea what she sees in him. So it was valentines day and the guy asked her questions about roses because he said he wanted to make a specail girl feel extra good about her self today. The girl thought, "omg maybe it's me" right away. She ran over to friends' dorm and told them about the conversation. They said dont get your hopes up. Later when she went back to her room, there were 6 red roses sitting there waiting for her. and a note that said, "Roses are red, violets are blue, he dosen't love you but we sure do!" and her friends were standing there i n the door way. I think this story is totally cute and shows how much awesomer friendship is. Although, if it happened to i would probly be p'oed. =]

Story Time

Hey guys! I found another book, and so far it's really good! Maybe some of you would like it. It's one of the new books in the library, and it was the first one I grabbed. I read through some of the pages and the beginning was a little iffy, but it gets better as it goes along! Here's the inside cover for you all if you're interested:

"George and Kate are promised the finest education when they transfer to Whittaker Magnet School. It boasts the highest test scores in the nation.

"But at what price? Their new school's curriculum is focused on beating standardized tests; classes are held in dreary, windowless rooms; and students are force-fed noxious protein shakes to improve their test performance. Worst of all, there seems to be a demon loose in the building, one whose murderous work has only just begun."

To be honest, the main thing that made me check it out was the words demon and murder. Haha. I'm evil! Mwuahahahahahahaha!!! Ok, so I'm not. Sue me. Ok don't. I have no money. But please do check that book out. It sounds kinda corny, but it's rather good!
Talk to ya'll later!!!

What do you think?

It's very windy
and my family gathers together
under the clear sapphire skies.
The hot sand squishes in between my toes
and the water makes us all want to run.
We stand still,
wet up to our knees.
Everyone is hugging.
The rounding of the earth is visible in the horizon
it looks like the end of a CD curve.
The wind is blowing,
chilly, yet warm.
The sun makes up for the cold.
It's like upside down gravity,
the inability to frown.
I hear the fake snapshot from our camera
as my father softly spoke,
"I love you guys."

♥I know what your thinking♥

Yes i know what your thinking! Your thinking this is a book that has something to do with something that is inappropriate, but it is not. It may have a few bad words but its not like you havent heard them before and you can stop being immature. This book is about a guy who is in highschool and growing up and a lot of girls are saying stuff like you are sexy, fine, really good looking, etc. Also he is on the swim team and when he was sophmore he was on JV and now he is tryin to get on varsity. His dad is pressuring him because no body on any side of the family has went to college and i am predicting that he might be the first. ♥

My name a Borat

I buy window with glass, he buy window with glass

I buy step, he buy step

I buy clock radio, he cannot afford. Great Success!

I buy video ipod, he buy ipod mini. everyone knows those are for girls. Nice.

haha, good movie. NICE.

this poem thing that we are doing is kindof cool. sometimes it is hard to think of topics to write about in poems and stuff. I finally came up with an idea, but it took a while. Great Success!

Shakespear is going pretty good, but it is still really confusing. But over all, ITS NICE.

I got back into the left behind books, and they are amazing.Im on # 36 out of 40. some guy just had to cut his own arm off. VERY NICE, how much?

Thats pretty much it.

Goodbye

flip.com

this is a really fun website. its called flip.com and you get to make flip books about anything. its kind of like photo story, but its got a lot more to do. you might of seen ads in magazines for this website (that's how i find out about it) well if you just go to this link you can check it out. http://www.flip.com/ but you might want to wait to go to the link when your not on the school computers, because you need and adobe flash player, and its blocked on the school computers. otherwise you should my an account and start making flip books, its actually really fun. oh and by the way in case you were wondering its free! :D hope you enjoy...

Take me to your leader!

I like the new links Ms. James has added to the other blogs. Its kind of weird, like discovering life on other blogs. It reminds me of the movie Contact we watched in Chief Time. In the movie this scientist discovers life on another planet, and the "aliens" communicate with her. Its cool to see how different some of the other blogs are. Some have a lot more posts than ours. And more photos and such. But then again, they are all a lot alike, too.

Love... is it real?

I have never thought love was real. Like, there are certain levels of love, and i don't doubt that people love eachother, it just doesn't seem quite real to me that someone could love eachother with their whole heart. This includes unconditional love. Which we don't see a whole lot of in our world today. Marriages are broken apart by hatred, lust, cheating, and even killing. It seems a little weird to me that people decide they are in love, go get married, and break up some years later after they get sick of eachother.
I am a hipocrit in this way. I say I love everyone, even though I really don't. The only people I truly love are my best friend, mom, sister and brother. And even I recognize that this love is not unconditional. Sometimes I feel like I hate them, and get so sick of them.
You could think I am way out of line? It is just my opinion.
What do you think?

MY BOOOOOOOOOOOOK

Anways,
Justin has FINALLY found his imaginary dog.
He was so relieved to find him sitting under a tree.
WOW
I wonder if crazy kids like that just put on shows to get attention. Listen to how this sounds... "Mom, I lost my imaginary dog. Can I use the car tonight?"
It just sounds a little un-convincing to me...

SHAKESPEAREEEEEEE!!

I think we are about to read Shakespeare here in a few minutes, I am starting to really appreciate the language that they used to speak.
After it makes sense, everything starts to tie together, and the poetry suddenly becoms more beautiful.

:D

I'm leaving for little rock in exactly two and a half hours! YAY for dance!!

Comment me on what you think !

It's been a while,

but I guess I've just been having a lot of problems at home. Actually, just a lot of problems with myself. I think you all will be pleased to know that Austin will be home the 7th, so I can finally stop complaining about how much I miss him! I don't get to see him this weekend which is really upsetting me, I'm not sure if I can wait another 10 days with out freaking out! Goodness. I've been reading ALOT. I've read two of the Gossip Girls books. I read: Gossip Girl, You Know You Love Me, and All I Want is Everything. I just finished that last one but the library doesn't have the next one so I'll have to wait. The next one is Because I'm Worth it. Since I have to wait to read that, I checked out The Uglies AND The Pretties. When I'm done reading those I'll read the third one in the trilogy which is The Specials. Jeeeeze! I just have a lot on my list to read! But oh well, it keeps my occupied:)

I haven't been doing very well with keeping up with Romeo and Juliet, OR blogging. Which is not good beacuse I need to keep my grade up. It's just been a stressful couple of weeks and I guess it'll stay that way until Austin comes home:)!!

PEOPLE: Give me some book ideas! I need more more more books to read!

poem...

Oho these frozen tears of mine

The run, they intertwine.

Down my pail face.

Along my fingertips .

And tingling down my spine,

Splashing onto the floor.

Hoping no one will,

Break my heart again.

As I bite my cheak,

I fight hard to hold the pain back.

To hear my dark secret

In the stillness of the dark.

My firy passion

Of a lit candle

Burning and writhing in pain.

Again, and again,

Till it turns to dust...

And dissapeares forever more.

p.s. i havent posted in a while... other wise i would never post one of my poems.

and i hate revising and faving people look at them...

its not right.

Stressed OUT!!!

This picture is how I feel right now...life is SO stressful! My poem didn't get great reviews, I have this stupid project due next Friday in Geometry Honors, I'm behind on timed writings in College Keyboarding, and boys are just so CONFUSING! I can't wait until I see my sister tonight (we're 6 years apart - she's 21). I'm going to Webb City (cuz I used to live there) and spending a relaxing weekend just doing absolutely NOTHING...except I might have to work on my project, but whatever. So how's everyone else's lives??? Please, feel free to express your troubles...

Poetry..!

The assignment that we did yesterday for the bellwork was writing a poem about the photo we brought to class. I REALLY liked this assignment because i brought a picture of my grandma, grandpa, my sister and me at Chrismtmas Eve one year. I really liked writing poetry about the picture because the words just kindof flowed from me without hardly any thought. I also liked it when we chose 4 words, and then we had to include each other them in our poems. I haven't had much time to contiinue reading my book, Someone like you, buut from what I have read in the book, I like it more and more:) I hope everyone had a glorious week. Let's have a good weekend:]!

crazy weather

Wow the weather this year has been crazy. An ice storm right at the beginning of the year in January. We did get more snow this year than normal which I'm not complaining about. This month has defiantly been the craziest though. The first week temps. were in the mid to high 80s. The already torn up trees started to bloom that week. A weed and a couple of days later it was only 34 degrees and was snowing pretty good even though it didn't stick. There has also been some pretty good hail storms. The weather improved again and got back up in the 80s again but this week has again dropped and caused tornadoes.

Just hoping we can get a break in may.

Music

I love music. :) its pretty amazing. I like all types too, im not like some people who only like rock, pop, rap or country. Although lately i haven't fount alot of new artists to download so if i can have some suggestions of some new cool music to download. i dont care about the genre. You could even just tell me your favorite song. :)

THERE FOR YOU

That's the song I'm listening to. It's by The Undeserving. It's really good and sweet. I wonder if I can gind a music video for it..If I can, I'll put a link to it on here.

I don't really feel like talking about Romeo and Juliet. I don't really understand all of it, so I think I might get even more confused if we tried to talk about it in the blog. Haha. Oh. I think it's really bizzare that those little kids in Elementary School were reading it. I couln't have ever done that. Haha.

I'm still reading A Million Little Peices. Haha. I hope that I can finish it soon.

PICTURE OF JAMES FREY:

I Finished!

I finally finished Twilight after two weeks .Iwould have finished earlier but I don't ever have time to read at home so I can pretty much only read at school. The book is so good and if you haven't read it I really suggests that you do.The eneding was good but it kind of left me wondering what will happen next.So this weekend I am going to go get the second book called New Moon!

Code Red

means the end.
I finished the book Code Orange. THE AUTHOR IS CAROLINE COONEY for those who wanted to know. The book is just really good. But once again I don't want to say what happens. Basically thought, without saying much, Mitty thinks he has small pox, but he's not sure. He gets worried which lead to a series of events and the better parts of the books. Also in the book you learn a lot about small pox and what it does and its history when reading this story. It's really interesting.

Deepnesss

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Wow. What an amazing quote! We all are such hipocrits. We put others down and critisize, when really, we do the exact same thing that they are doing.
We all say that we "want to see a change in the world" for example, pollution. We all complain about it, but does anyone actually do anything? No, I haven't really noticed.
I think we should all take a field trip outside... and pick up trash! :D
Haha, I know most of you would hate that, but I really think it would be a good idea.

Anybody agree with me?

Anyways...
My book.
Oh my book.
It is still insane! Justin is extremely depressed. (literally, he won't even move from the couch) All because he lost his invisible dog... I mean COME ON!!
An invisible dog is lost in an airplane explosion. This is just too weird.
But I am sticking with it! No matter what! I think it is overdue though...I'll have to check that one out.

In class we have been writing a lot of poetry. I LOVE poetry, it's just that I feel dumb reciting it... ya know?
I love writing it and expressing feelings, just not having to share it with the class.
The picture I choose was two highschoolers holding hands. I pictured school just getting out, and that they think they are in love. But, we all know love isn't real. :D
What was yours about?

Well, I am leaving for competition tomorrow, so I have to go pack.

Wish me luck :D:D:D

life of a girl in iraq. please go to this link...

i found a 15 year old girls blog about her life. She lives in Iraq, and in her blogs she talks about many different subjects. i think this is a really good thing to look at for us being that most of us are 15, and so is she. i like her blog because i really learned what it is like in Iraq, its so sad she talks about how her moms salary is $50. but what amazes me is that she seems so happy in her posts even with all the horrible events happening in her country. she said in one of her posts that its dangerous to go to school, but she loves school so she goes. her nickname on the blog is sunshine, and she is one of the bravest 15 year old i think i will ever read about... the web page is
http://livesstrong.blogspot.com/
i hope you guys read this, because this blog truly does have a purpose.

I'm a Nomad

hey peoples!!!
well, i just thought i would share my problems with you guys. As of right now i'm pretty much a nomad. If you dont know what a nomad is someone that moves from place to place. My parents are currently in Puerto Rico on vacation so i'm staying with different people every night, my friends. It's kinda fun so far but i know that its going to get old. On top of that the fact that my parents went on vacation WITHOUT me, i'm hungry. Oh and did i mention that someone stole 20 dollars from me yesterday? well yea they did, in PE. So that will be a total of 80 dollars that someone has stolen. well, i have to go but comment me and cheer me up. :)

Beautiful Poetry...

The poems we wrote yesterday were SO moving (that is not a sarcastic remark). There were a lot of people who are really good writers that I would have never thought could write an ounce of poetry (I know that sounds mean, but this was supposed to be a compliment). Anyway, I'm not very good at writing poetry because I'm not very good at expressing how I feel on paper. But all the poems we read yesterday were super duper good, especially the murder one, he he. I wish I could write well, but some people are just way better at it than others. Poetry is so pretty, and I used to only like rhyming ones, but when everybody read theirs yesterday, I guess I made room for free verse, too.

Code Orange

So I'm reading a book called Code Orange. I have read about 50 pages and so far its really good!
It's about a kid named Mitty. That's his nickname. He is assigned this project where he must research a disease. Well his mom is an interior designer and her specialty is redoing libraries for homes!?!? (kinda strange) As Mitty is looking through these old books his mom just got he finds this envelope. He opens and finds scabs. He touches them and sniffs them. He reads the book they were found in a little. It's about small pox. That's what he decides to do his project on. Well he doesn't realize that he just came in contact with smallpox scabs from about 100 years ago. Apparently the disease can come back. He starts to think maybe he might get small pox and starts to look into it more. That's about all I know as of right now. But so far it's good!

Comment!

honestly.

I am really starting to understand the Shakespeare language!
I never thought that it would make sense to me, but after reading from this website I started to understand a lot more of their talking.
I am excited to read more and watch the movie. I love the up to date version. It is goofy, but has good humor (and occasionally dumb humor) but that is okay!!

Well, see you all tomorrow!!

:D

Romeo and Juliet

The play we are reading is confuzing because of the words they use and everything. The site http://nfs.sparknotes.com/romeojuliet/ helps alot because it tells you what it would say in modern text and is alot easier to understand. The new modern day movie where Romeo and Juliet is set in is weird to say the least.Especially the costumes the people wore to the Capulet ball! The movie makes everything alot easier to undertsnad also it shows you what they mean .Even though they still use the same words the movie helps to make more clear what they mean. The old version of the movie is really boring and doesn't clear much up it is just as confuzing as the play.

OCEAN'S THIRTEEN!!!

Whoohoo! Who like's the Ocean's movies? YES! I saw the preview for Ocean's Thirteen yesterday. It looks amazing! I'm just sad the series is ending.

The Boy with the Thorn in his Side

yes i am posting about it again
but no one left me any comments. =[
so i am posting it again:

"...The boy wished he could live in the "humdrum towns" and "coastal villages". He sang "I wish i weren't me" over and over again just flat of the key of love until he forgot the words and could only hum along. Everyday was the same. The same stupid smile on the same stupid boy. Until the days blurred into a haze and the boy dropped into a depression. Not a cool dark room and cigarette depression like the songs he loved, but one that felt like he was being smothered by a safe, suburban, monotonous blanket...."

"I think somewhere in everyone is THE BOY..."

-passages from The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, BY: Pete Wentz

So i started this great new book. The Boy with the thorn in his side. When i first read the two passages above, i thought, "wow, that's me." IT's wonderful to know someone you don't even know can feel the same exact feelings you are. Even if they are unexplainable. Sometimes you start to think, "It's just me in this screwed up life, no one knows how i feel". Then you hear a great song or read an excellent book that just gives you hope. No matter how upset, sad, angry, confused or whatever you are. There's just hope. When you find a song or book like that, keep it with you, no matter what happens, in your hopes. In your dreams. In that messed thing you call your mind. =]

(Romeo and Juliet)

The costumes from the newer version of Romeo and Juliet represent the characters quite a bit. Lady Capulet’s outfit of an Egyptian Queen, shows how she thinks that she is very beautiful and above others. Paris also seems very full of himself because he is wearing an astronaut suit. He is like Lady Capulet, he feels that he is above others. I think these costumes are good representations of how Lady Capulet and Paris think of themselves. I think that Romeo is wearing a suit of armor because he is at the ball to “rescue” Rosaline. I think that you can tell a lot about the characters of Romeo and Juliet by the way they were dressed at the Capulet ball.

Modern Romeo and Juliet

Wow that is so much easier to understand. It helps me picture the characters better. The costumes in the newer movie where very interesting...some kinda scared me, but just a little bit. Well i like this version a lot better cause it kept me more interested and i could relate to it more.

Ecstacy and Guns.......Great movie!!

I think the thing with extacy was a good representation of the original scene. They just wanted him to have fun, and didn't want him to worry about that girl, so they had him take the extacy. I also think it was cool how the pill had a heart on it, so it was as if it would cure the heartache, which it did, since Romeo didn't even think about that other girl, instead thinking of Juliet.

I like how in the modern movie that they just wave guns around like its a toy. That is probably how people were in the olden days, flaunting their swords and trying to show off. I think that the modern movie almost perfectly depicts how this play would have happened if it did in modern days.

thats all

Yeah Boi!!!

Modern Romeo and Juliet

I just think that the modern version is really funny. i love it. lol. i understand it better when i watch it but i just think its funny how they have it in modern setting but keep the same script. As for the book, i'm not enjoying it much. i cant understand shakesphere. its to hard!!!!!!!!! :(

love at first sight?????????

Do you believe in love at first sight?Appearently Romeo and Juliet do.They only see each other for the first time at the masked ball and suddenly just fall in love with each other.I think that is dumb to just love someone for there beauty and looks. They had no time to know anything about each other but yet they love each other from that one time meeting.I don't believe in love at first sight because it's shallow to love someone for only there looks. To really love some one you need to know them not just know what they look like. You could find a guy who is really handsome but he could be rteally cruel and mean.I don't know that is just my thoughts on love at first sight. What do you guys think?

Romeo and Juliet Up-to-Date

Well I like this version of Romeo and Juliet much better. I understand it a lot more even though it is really strange. Its weird to see them saying all those corny lines in real time. Also how they dress is weird also. Still throughout all of this, the story became easier to understand. Today I got a new book!

It's called Code Orange, by Caroline Cooney. It looks really good. All I know is that it is about a kid who is doing a research project for his high school class and in doing so he uses the historice envelope. He uses it because its from the time of whatever he is researching. (I don't know because I haven't started reading!) Apparently when using the document as apart of his project, he accidently releases a small amount of the smallpox virus.

Wow! Pretty crazy.

well comment me.

Romeo and Juliet

I thought it was really clever how the director of the Romeo and Juliet movie used the pill with the heart on it. It tied in what Shakespeare ment for that part to be about, and the director was able to make it more modern.

I thought that the director of the movie also picked the setting and costumes well. I thought that it was symbolic how Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, and some of the other characters were dressed. Romeo had the costume of a knight. This was a good choice because he is the "protagonist." Juliet was an angel. This was also a good choice because she is supposed to be pretty and stuff. Mercutio was a drag queen and his character acted really crazy.

By the way I still haven't found a new book to read. If you have any suggestions let me know.

peace out my homies

Love, Hate, and Drugs

Haha, hey everyone! How are you all living through William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet? Or are you enjoying it? Well, to tell ya guys, I wasn't that thrilled about it, and then reading the book didn't help much at all. The old movie was iffy and I couldn't understand it any better, but this modern version with Leonardo DiCaprio (cuteness) is really easier to register! I mean, I guess because it's based in our day and age, rather than theirs. That would do the trick, right? Yeah, I bet it would.

So, now I'm simply waiting for the time they both die. Or Paris dies. I don't like Paris right now. I don't know why, but I just don't like him right on the spot. Haha, I sound like I'm loosing my mind... But in fact, I am! Mwuahaha!

How do you guys feel about Mercutio being an addict? I thought that was hilarious! But the Drab Queen thing was really just freaky... It scared me... (S)He scares me...

Modern movie rocks!

I, for one, really like the modern-day movie. I think it's hilarious and the cinematography rocks. At the Capulet ball, the scene with Romeo screaming underwater was cool. I think Romeo and Juliet got a little too into it for just meeting each other and Mercutio was definitely drugged up, but otherwise, it's great. Oh, and Tybalt is creepy. The costumes really described the characters. Romeo's the knight in shining armor, Juliet is as beautiful as an angel, Tybalt is as angry as the devil and Mercutio is so high he dresses like a woman! Anyways, I think that if Shakespeare wasn't prepared for our modern-day crudeness and perverseness, he would have a heart-attack watching this. Otherwise, I have no idea. The guy lived five-hundred years ago! Maybe he liked horror movies, how should I know? Also, I think it's wonderfully dramatic when Romeo and Juliet find out each other's families. They look so crushed, it's so sad.

would shakespeare..?

Would Shakespeare like the new version of his story? Personally, I think he wouldn't like the new version. Why? He might think that there are too many distractions and other things to pay attention to besides the point of the whole story.. the love between Romeo and Juliet. Some distractions I'm talking about are the way people dress in the film, the cars, and the drastic change in time periods which makes EVERYTHING different from the original novel. I think Shakespeare would still think that the love that Romeo and Juliet have between each other has the same feel and meaning, but it's just harder to interpret this in the film, rather than just reading the play.
Yep, that's my opinion. What do you all think :)?

Romeo and Juliet

So in class, we're reading Romeo and Juliet (duhh). I understand the basic storyline, but trying to read it in our Lititure books is just way too hard.

I like Marcuchio (: He's funny. Well, at least in the modern movie we were watching. Hahaha, dressing up like a drag. Niiice.

What's the site for reading Romeo and Juliet easier?

Romeo and Juliet.

I am not a big fan of Shakespeare. I can read it, but it is so hard to understand. I like the story line, but how often does that really happen. Two people meet at a party, find out they are enemies, then fall in love? I mean, come one, William, you could have done something sausier than that.

And the movie versions, I don't think they are at all amusing. Especially not the one that were shown in class. If they wanted modern, then they can make it a chick flick.

Anyone else just LOVE the chicken soup books?

Ok so this week i have started
Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul IV. I just love chicken soup books because the have so many life lessons that teach everyone how to deal with life. Especially, teenagers like us. Also a lot of the stories i can totally relate to. I think it's gonna be a great book to blog about because i could blog about a different story everyday. So i will update later about the stories. =]

Romeo is a wuss

Romeo is a wuss

I think Romeo needs to stop being a wimp. He needs to storm the Capulet mansion, take Juliet, and ride off on his horse to some place far away, where they will live happily ever after to the very end of their days. He seems very emotional, and I haven't seen him get in a fight yet. I think that I'd like Romeo a lot better if he stood up and actually fought for those he loves. Saying romantic poetry is nice, but I'd like to see more of his character. Does Romeo have a tough side?

♥AmAzInG♥

Hey guys i just finished this book and it was amazing. if you like fantasy, ocean/sea stories, mythical stories you will love this one as you have seen before i blogged about this book and i really encourage you to read i finished it in two days cuz i got really bored.

Yea..

My book is still weird... Apparently, Justin Case has decided to run away. He isn't really "running away," his parents think he is at his junior class trip. He decides to take refuge in an airport. He stays there for about three days, and uses their showers, sleeps on their chairs and eats airport food. After a while, Agnes, the girl he is in love with, calls him and decides to come visit him. As soon as she gets there, the airplane blows up...

Ya.. i know. HOW IRONIC?!?!
But after that, she allows him to stay at her house, and things get pretty intense. She calls his parents and they come and tell him that he can just stay with her.'

Let us look at the situation. A junior (in highschool) is being allowed to live with a thirty year old, whom they barely know, in the middle of his school year. It is really starting to get weird..
O well, i'm going to finish.

Romeo and Juliet :D
What a story! We haven't really gotten too far into it yet. Each scene starts getting better and better. When we watched the "up-to-date" version of it, I thought it would be kind of silly. After a few scenes, it got better.
I had no idea how the play went, so this is all new to me.

Has anyone every read this play before besides this class?
Do you like the "up-to-date" version of it?
What about the old version?

Have a nice day :D

BTW (I love salsa dancing, that is what the picture is about ;) )

When I Find Time

When i find TIME to read, i love reading good books. I had a track meet last night and i read on the way there. Im still reading the jump, a book about a high school basketball player that goes straight to the pros. Last night i read about when Telfair played his high school rival Darius Washington. They played on ESPN 2 and Washington dominated in the first half. Telfair got hurt before halftime and wasnt playing to good before that. Then he came back out after halftime and took over the game and they won and he had 25+ point and Washington lost the game but had 30+ points. The author was so detailed it seemed like i was sitting in the gym watching the game.

Romeo the Romantic

Romeo is SOOOO romantic!!! He really knows the way to a girl's heart... "Thus from my lips, by thine my sin is purged." And "Give me my sin again." When I read these words, I was so engulfed in his sensuality I just kept reading those lines over and over... I know that that sounds really stupid, but I am a hopeless romantic and he is just the best romantic ever! Of course, I would be a little weirded out if some guy said that to me when we were about to kiss, but then again...it's still romantic. The chemistry between Romeo and Juliet is just so amazing, although the time in which it took them to fall in love with each other is a bit unrealistic, but oh well. How sweet!!!

Soo I started a new book by Sarah Dessen on Friday. I love her writing in the past, so I think I'll like this book pretty well. So far it's pretty sad because one of the main characters boyfriends was just killed in a motorcycle accident:/ But from the looks of it I think the book will lighten up some and not be so depressing, I hope so at least.. haha. I hope everyone had a nice weekend:)!

Night--My Role Model

Okay guys, this is my hero/idol/greatest role model. Yes, you guessed it, the unimaginably creative: M. Night Shyamalan! ^-^ I know, you probably all think I'm crazy, but to an aspiring Screenwriter, Shyamalan is the absolute greatest role model a girl could ask for. He's definitely my favorite person in the world, I would give anything to meet him, and someday I'd like to work under him. He'd be an old man by the time I work in the movie industry, but that would still be sooo freakin' sweeeeet!!!

Lady in the Water!

YES! I finally saw Lady in the Water! Huzzah!!!!! Oh my gosh, all I can say is M. Night Shyamalan is a genius. I love him! I love his movies! If you're a Shyamalan fan, you will love this movie--I think it's his best (Signs coming in a close second). The picture to the left is of the funniest part in the movie. If you haven't seen this movie yet, let me tell you, it's a whole lot funnier than his other movies, but it's no less creative. I felt inspired just watching it! The characters are so rich and so beautiful and Shyamalan's humor is soo funny. I highly recommend this movie to any Shyamalan freaks and anyone who loves a good bedtime story.

Comment me! Has anyone else seen this movie yet? If yes, who's your favorite character? What's your favorite Shyamalan movies?

Gangstas

The gangsta version of Romeo and Juliet is awesome. I like how they kept the same script, but made it make more sense with the modern day acting. It really helped me understand Romeo and Juliet more, even though it was kindof weird.

The old movie was just okay, but it is pretty boring, because we havent gotten into the good parts of the play. the fight scene in the gangsta one was cool, but the capulets in the orange tights in the old one kindof scared me.

Thats all for now

H.O.A.

Nothing too exciting has happened this weekend except that my volleyball team just got 2nd place at Regionals!!! I don't really have that much to blogg about. I liked the Romeo and Juliet movie we watched. The newer one is my favorite one because it is really funny how they are trying to be gangster, but they are still using basically the exact words that Shakespeare used. I crack up watching that.

Snowy Egret

In General Biology I did my research paper on the Snowy Egret. Here are some facts about the Snowy Egret.

The Snowy Egret’s scientific name is Egretta thula.
Its phylum is chordata.
Its genus is egretta.
The Snowy Egret is normally 56- 66 cm tall.
Its wingspan is around 100 cm long and it weighs about 13 pounds.

It is all white except for black legs and yellow feet.
During breeding it has lacy plumes on its head, neck, and back.
Males and Females look alike.
At most they live 16 years long.

I need help

I went to Barnes and Noble but I couldn't find any books that looked good. If you know of a good book comment me.

A tribute to those who passed at the Virginia Tech Shooting.

Tomorrow will be one week since the VT shootings. 33 people died in the shootings, including the shooter who afterward killed himself. This is a horrible event that has affected the whole nation, but hopefully this will help us realize that some people out there really do need help.

Help us remember the event and use it as a tool to help others. If you know somebody who is going through some rough times and is maybe making threats towards other people, talk to them and try to help them get through it. If that doesn't work, seek adults help or have them see a counselor.

we now understand that it can happen to us, and that people would be that messed up in the head to kill a bunch of people, so remember this and help our nation and our community to become strengthened, and help us to prevent this from ever happening again.

thankyou

NBA PLAYOFFS!

So I don't have much to blog about so I'm going to talk about the playoffs. The NBA playoffs just started Saturday. I'm really excited to watch because I love basketball. Yesterday my team, the Miami Heat lost to the Chicago Bulls. A lot of you might think I'm just a fair-weather fan because the Heat won the championship last year, but I'm not. I started to like the Heat the summer Shaq got traded and then when they drafted Dwyane Wade. My other team, the Houston Rockets, won! They beat the Utah Jazz in Game 1 of 7. Also the Nets beat the Raptors. The Pistons beat the Magic. And the Cavaliers beat the Wizards ealier today. There are three more games today.

I know a lot of you guys probably don't care too much about all this but that's ok.
Next week I will start blogging more about the books I am reading.

But comment if you like anyway.
