I just started reading To Kill A Mockingbird today. I don't really know if I'm going to like it yet, but it seems alright so far. There is a lot of Southern accent. So this is what's happening so far. There is a boy named Finch and his friend Jem. At least I think that's what it is. The book is kind 0f confusing. Anyways they meet a boy who goes by Dill. Dill dares Jem to touch the Radley Place home. The Radly Place is supposed to be haunted and the family (or what's left of them) keep to themselves. The Radley's have a son who hangs out with the wrong crowd and is known as a kind of bad kid. So eventually Jem gathers up enough courage to go through the gate and touch the house. After they all run home.
In the next chapter Jem brings Finch to school for the first day of first grade. Jem is in fifth grade. Jem amazes his teacher at his reading ability and she tells him that his dad should stop teaching him to read-becuause that's the teacher's job. Finch gets in trouble three times and the teacher can't handle him. Finch doesn't understand why. Then the teacher, Miss Caroline, is yelled at by a teacher from across the hall becuause her class is being too loud and Finch can't help but not feel sorry for her becuause she had not been very friendly to Finch.
Well that's what is going on.
Tell me what you think!!!
