This is what I understand is going on in Act I so far:
A fight between Sampson & Gregory (servants of the Capulets) and Abram (servant of the Montagues) starts at the very beginning of the play. Both Lord Capulet and Montague want to get involved, but their wives disagree. The prince then comes and breaks up the fight. He says that the next time they fight they will pay with their lives.
Romeo is very sad and just wants to be left alone right now. Romeo loves someone, but she doesn’t love him back. He can’t stop thinking about her beauty. Benvolio tries to tell Romeo to instead look at other beautiful girls, but Romeo says that this will only make him long for the girl even more.
