skinny

I'm starting to read this book, it's called Skinny by Ibi Kaslik.

Here is what the book is about...

Holly’s older sister, Giselle, is self-destructing. Haunted by her love-deprived relationship with her late father, this once strong role model and medical student, is gripped by anorexia.Holly, a track star, struggles to keep her own life in balance while coping with the mental and physical deterioration of her beloved sister. Together, they can feel themselves slipping and are holding on for dear life.

This honest look at the special bond between sisters is told from the perspective of both girls, as they alternate narrating each chapter.Gritty and often wryly funny, Skinny explores family relationships, love, pain, and the hunger for acceptance that drives all of us.

i hope i like it, so far i do but I'll have to see. :)

Wow, the book itself sounds really good in your discriptions. I think it sounds it, but I actually haven't read it myself but I think I might. It reminds of a book from Sarah Dessen. And to me personally I like those kind of books that touches you deeply. And when you have finished the book, you don't really want it to end. Oops, I got side tracked, sorry.

So about the book, let me know if the book is good to read. I like a book that has a lot of conflicts. And the sister connection is really strong too. Because I myself have a very annoying little sister, but in my heart I know that I love her. And it would be interesting to get a prespective from both the girls (in the book) and how they feel about the whole situation.

I have never really read any book like this one before...it seems very interesting. I think the book also sounds really good because you get to hear both of the sisters points of view on the situation. Let us know how it turns out, but try not to spoil the ending!

Sounds like a very interesting book! I have a sister and so books about the relationship of siblings and all I always seem to relate to. I really would like to hear if you liked it, since by the time you get this comment you probably would have already finished it. Also, does the popcicle on the the cover have anything to do with the book or is just there for decorations or something? But what made you read this book, did you just pick it one day or did someone recommend it?

If you have already finished this book, have you read any other books lately that you would recommend, because I would like to read different books from what I usually read, so let me know, thanks.
