Gas Prices?

Why are the gas prices so high and then get back low again? Well I’ve done a little research and found out that there’s no REAL reason to it and that the company just decided to put at that price. There is a reason to it but the reason is just ridiculous. The reason is because the manager of the oil gas company just decided to raise it. This is probably concerning many of your parents as well as mine and that’s one of the reasons why I decided to post it. And another reason added to why I am not a big fan of society or more in particular business. Life in America is just a monopoly and sometimes its fair and sometimes its not. If any of you find a good reason why the gas prices are so high please comment me about it and I would like to know.

Well, it's my understanding that the people in the Middle East who sell us oil, charge by the barrel. Every so often, they raise the cost per barrel, meaning our government has to pay more, meaning we pay more. Tada! ^-^

Really? I thought that the oil company just decided to raise the price because they just felt likt it. Well...thank you then.

Good reason, Techy. It's ok though. Eventually, we might run out of gas and then the price will never have to go up for gas!

Actually there was a time back in history when one day all the people in America decided not to use gas through out the whole day and then the next day the gas prices were really low. I wonder if we could do that too, to lower the price down.

I think the rising gas prices are ridiculous, too. I remember last year that gas was $2.03 around the 4th of July. It's so dumb that the government (or whoever) is not willing to invest in alternative fuel methods, because oil is not a renewable resource; so once it's gone, it's gone. Gas also puts toxic fumes into the air that are depleting the ozone layer, all the more reason to switch to ethanol or electric vehicles.

ya i think it is completely stupid because over in venezuela gas is like 23 cents a gallon and in the middle east it is like 46 cents a gallon. That is so dumb because it is 3.29 a gallon here. Ya so thats is really not fair, but what is.

I heard that in California it's up to 4 bucks and in Hawaii it's up to 5. It just shows you how the U.S. can take advantage of us sometimes. I mean, come on, who really puts the gas prices up to 20 cents in one day? that's just ridiculous! And I am very outraged because that means less food on the table for the family's who really need that 20 cents.

Guys, here's what happens.

They buy to gas a few weeks ahead of time, which is why it goes up and down. Of course, they divide everything out to get the correct price. they add about 5 cents to it to make it a profit. so 5 cents per gallon goes to the store, the rest of it goes to buying next week's gas. They have to decide what the prices will become due to the economy so they charge accordingly. Also, they have to take into account for shipping and handling, which is why it is more expensive in different areas of the country.

myfalloutromance, how do you know all of this information because I couldn't find it on the net whatsoever, and I talked to my mom too and she doesn't know either. I'd just like to know where you get all your information. ^_^
Thank you!
