Today I read chapters, 8 and 9 of To Kill A Mockingbird. For the first time in a long time, it snows in Maycomb. Jem, and Scout have never seen snow and the make a snowman. Then that night, it freezes, and the town uses their fire places to keep warm. Miss Maudie's house catches fire and most of the town wakes up to help remove furniture while the fire dept. comes to put it out. Later in ch. 9 around Christmas time word gets around town that Atticus is defending a black man on trial. People don't like that so Jem and Scout get lots of crap at school about it. So when the family goes to visit relatives for Christmas and one of Scout's cousins starts to bring that up, Scout punches him in the face. Scout gets punished and later on back at home overhears Atticus talking to their uncle about this trial and the problems it will bring to their household. Scout doesnt think Atticus knows she is there, but he does all along.
So that's what is going on!

I think this book is very boring, im on chapter 13 now.
